Introduction

Pasto ("the App") is a free application that helps you track your daily food intake and nutrition. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

Data Collection and Storage

Pasto does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you enter in the App is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. There is no server, no cloud backup, and no account system.

The types of data stored locally on your device include:

• Food logs (food name, calories, quantity, category, timestamps)
• Daily calorie goal
• Favorite food items
• App preferences (theme, language, notification settings)

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to delete the App, in which case the data is removed along with the App.

Health Data

The App can optionally integrate with Apple HealthKit (iOS) and Google Health Connect (Android) to sync calorie and nutrition data. This integration is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission.

• Data read: Active calories burned, basal energy burned, dietary energy consumed
• Data written: Dietary energy consumed (calories from logged food items)

Health data is exchanged only between the App and the Health platform on your device. It is never sent to any external server or third party.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

The App offers an optional voice input feature that uses your device's microphone and native speech recognition (Apple Siri / Google Speech-to-Text) to transcribe spoken food descriptions into text.

• The microphone is only activated when you explicitly tap the voice input button
• Audio is processed by your device's native speech recognition engine
• The App does not record, store, or transmit audio data
• Only the resulting text transcription is used, and only if you confirm and save the entry

Please note that Apple and Google's native speech recognition services may process audio data according to their own privacy policies.

Notifications

The App can send local push notifications to remind you to log meals. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No external notification service is used.

Third-Party Services

Pasto does not use any third-party services, including but not limited to:

• Analytics or tracking tools
• Crash reporting services
• Advertising networks
• Cloud storage or databases
• Authentication providers
• AI or machine learning APIs

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties because we do not collect any user data.

Children's Privacy

Pasto does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect any personal data from any user, it does not pose specific risks to children's privacy.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can delete all App data by:

• Uninstalling the App from your device
• Clearing the App's data through your device's settings

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your Rights (GDPR / EU Users)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, and delete your personal data.
